Comments on the course

The course is recorded so even if you miss a class you can go back and watch the lecture witch was a nice thing but I still recumbent going to class.

Course Content

The course has 3 main topics (housing, fashion, energy) which is tide together though colonialism and capitalism. The course covers social problems which I found very interesting. There is 2 midterms, one essay, and a final exam. All exams are allowed a cheat sheet.

Comments on the professor

Rafi made the class very fun and interesting to learn. He also was very supportive with helping student write the essay and head office hours a lot to help students. Really nice and good at explaining things.

Advice

Go to class and do the readings as much as possible (the readings will be on the exam).

Comments on the course

Boring but easy, I wouldn't say it's a 1 star like previous reviews. Some parts of units were interesting like understanding housing more, but ultimately it's pretty surface level as most 100 level courses are - just regurgitate the info on the exam and analyze how they want you to, and you should be fine.

Course Content

2 midterms, 1 paper (1000 words), and a final. All lectures streamed, so I didn't attend in-person at all and just caught up to lectures before exams. There were 3 modules: Housing, Fast Fashion, and Energy. So far I am doing fine! I took this as a third year GEOG major so everything is pretty easy NGL. Averages on midterms were in the mid 70s.

Advice

It's streamed online! Attendance not taken besides in weekly tutorial sessions.

Comments on the course

3 papers, no exams (thank god). Horrible intro to human geography, focuses on colonialism and so unclear that I was lost the entire time. Honestly, what even is human geo... Way too many readings, and thank god this was online otherwise the quizzes would've probably really sucked. I hear it did for the irl classes. Bad course, bad content, bad teaching team

Advice

Don't take this class unless you really need it. You'll thank me later.
