Prof: Fernanda Tomaselli / Winter 2025
Jul 2, 2025
It's small, low-pressure, and informal. Because it lasts the whole winter term, the work is thinly distributed.
A basic overview of: Indigenous knowledge, impacts of forestry and agriculture systems, climate change, measures of sustainability. Mostly consists of quick facts to get us interested in these areas. Pretty straightforward.
Fernanda is a lovely teacher and human being. Her presentation slides and lectures are succinct and easy to follow, and expectations for assignments and quizzes are laid out very clearly.
- Do the readings for Braiding Sweetgrass especially, as there will be questions on the quizzes based on them. - Marking for assignments can be surprisingly harsh. If you want a good grade you will have to put in the effort. - Follow along with the course content and you'll be fine!
