This is a really interesting class, and it’s really useful if you are interested in functional morphology or kinematic research. I wish that the discussion sections were allowed to go for longer, as they are a lot of fun.

The content is mainly papers that you read for discussion, demonstrations, and lectures. You lead discussion for 3-4 papers and get points for participation and for the reading responses which you submit each discussion. The final assignment is a proposal which you get to design yourself.

Dr Holowka is great and really knows the material. I wish that there was more discussions but he’s really open to questions if you have any. He is also great with listening to differing ideas and opinions which is fantastic.

Be prepared for animal death in papers you have to read. If you aren’t comfortable with that then contact Dr. Holowka and he is open to coming up with alternatives for you.
