Prof: Elias Ali / Fall 2021

May 20, 2022

Comments on the course

It was a great foundational class and wonderfully introduces you to coding in MATLAB and Python, which will be very useful with a lot of engineering majors further down in your course load.

Course Content

It primarily focuses, once again, on basic coding and processes within MATLAB and Python. I would argue it's extremely useful, as I have had to use it for several more classes within the same school year.

Comments on the professor

Dr. Ali was a very good professor and wanted his students to understand and learn the basics of coding. From my experience, his class was very easy as long as you put time into your work (and I assume it may have been of lesser difficultly as compared to other professors). The only thing I wished we had covered in this class would be more difficult programs to code rather than ones we traditionally dealt with.

Advice

Only make sure you put in the time understanding the basic foundations of each coding program, as they will slightly vary in application and can be a bit tricky if you fumble with the differences between the two!
