Comments on the course

Fairly straightforward class that offered some looks into a couple of Shakespeare's plays. Analyses of various scenes are discussed each class, giving mind also to a context of interpreting these scenes for a theoretical stage production.

Course Content

Insights from self, other students, and the professor brought new ways for me in viewing some of Shakespeare's plays. They also even established new ones for plays I was not familiar with. Good content especially to keep in mind when making a stage adaptation of one of his plays. Course material prices are heavy (>$100) primarily due to a textbook that logs Shakespeare's plays. While it does offer lots of helpful historical context and clarified information through footnotes, you can still skip out on it and read the plays for free online.

Comments on the professor

For her first time teaching this course, I'd say it was pretty well executed. However, she was somewhat unclear initially with introducing the stage production group project. Inquiry helped to alleviate this though. Overall she is very approachable for questions and comments, and also offers relevant insight needed for the course material during classes.

Advice

As with most English courses, expect heavy reading. Course work was divided fairly but weekly discussions gave lots of prep work to do in Canvas for class discussions both for outside and in class (Zoom) discussions
