This was one of the first IE (and just in general) course that I was 100% interested in. I had no prior exposure to the material, so it was all new to me. Prof Rick did an amazing job at explaining topics and the exams were a reflection of lectures and assignments. No textbook was required, however , we were assigned a non-fiction book to read and summarize weekly that was honestly very interesting. As long as you immerse yourself in the material, the class is a breeze.
The general topics covered in this course are HCI (human computer interaction), UX/UI design and UX research. Through group projects, you’ll get hands on experience relating to these topics.
I have taken a few classes with this professor and I can confidently say he is one of the better teachers I’ve had during my time at Behrend. He is well versed on the topics and tries to make material easy while still engaging. He is always open to questions in and out of the classroom and answers emails in a timely manner.
Don’t get behind on the chapter readings and your workload will be doable. Tests are easy to prepare for. Group projects are fun and great experience to add to your resume or just good knowledge to learn in general.
