Comments on the course

Although this class was very easy, I didn't feel like I learned a lot. I was very familiar with theatre beforehand, but some of the technical terms were unfamiliar. It was very light in workload, and I could work at my own pace.

Course Content

The textbook discusses the history of theatre from (about) Middle Ages -- Modern. But it took a very political view and focused a lot on the social problems of theatre, which I didn't like. The online "plays" that were required to watch were movies, not stage plays. They all had graphic scenes/foul language issues, and I felt they didn't help me understand theatre better.

Comments on the professor

He didn't grade papers until 4-5 weeks later, so sometimes I would've submitted a paper without feedback or a grade on the previous one. When he finally did, he marked points off for vague reasons.

Advice

I wish I knew the textbook would focus so much on the social problems of theatre. I would not take this class again.
