It was interesting in some ways boring and tedious for other. My view may not be your view after taking this course.
Vector spaces, eigen space, graham-Schmidt, inner product spaces, star matrices, Hermetian matrices, kernel, dimension, span, rotation, basis, orthogonalization, orthonormalization, rank nullity theorem as well as others.I don’t care much for the content it wasn’t my cup of tea maybe you’ll find it more useful.
At the beginning Dr. Wing would ease us into proof aspect of the course but I didn’t enjoy the HWs which were long, quite tedious and coming from a book with no solution manual to speak of to compare answers to (I get that part of the reason is so people do the problems but if you have a busy schedule and can’t really go to office hours then your stuck going to mslc ). I didn’t like the exam structure where we had mini exams that were timed take home exams and then having our midterm and final in person (I prefer consistency). Also the exams had annoying multiple choice sections which I didn’t enjoy as much as the proof and application questions. I wish I had set aside more time to go to office hours. I wish I had known to ask my TA more questions regarding concepts. Don’t take this course with a full credit schedule it will definitely suck up some of your time. The book we used was trash which used notation that other better books didn’t use. Make sure to attend every recitation (this is a good place to ask questions).
