This was the greatest class I've taken in college so far. Prof. Becker is a great professor and really added a lot to the course. But I would say that if the topic doesn't sound interesting to you, maybe don't take this class. I found the topic fascinating and thoroughly read every assigned reading, which I have never done for a class before. This helped greatly during the midterm and final, which are both based on the weekly readings that he assigns. If the class sounds interesting to you at all, I think you should definitely take this course.

I found the class to be very useful. Taking the class gave me a different outlook on certain aspects of development and the Third World. Prof. Becker does an amazing job choosing articles that are current and show how the topics he teaches are being applied in the world today (I took the class Winter 2022 and Prof. Becker had already included articles from 2022).

Larry Becker is a great professor. He really cares about you as a student. He provides feedback on essays and lets you revise them for a higher grade.
