The course was very linear in the sense that your studying and knowledge built toward assignments and essays. It is a class where you can go in knowing very little about the subjects and come out more knowledgable than before.
The course primarily focused on China, Japan, Southeast Asia, and India. Most assignments were readings on various documents from the time, and studying for geography questions on exams. Notes are highly recommended so as to have resources for studying and assignments.
The professor was very approachable and offered great feedback on essays. He would be honest with advice on how to improve your paper and made sure that you knew the material.
This course is very rewarding when you put in the time and effort, and is easy when you do what is instructed of you. Taking notes and studying is crucial.
