Comments on the course

Well organized. 1st half of semester you review neurophysiology, which can be a bit challenging in points. But Dr B does a good job of reviewing. The last half or so you get to explore all kinds of different topics using the stuff you learned early like diseases of the brain (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s) and how we learn, why we sleep, psych disorders, sensation etc. .

Course Content

Very useful. I breezed through parts of physiology class b/c I already learned the neuro stuff from bio301. I actually used his notes instead of my phys text.

Comments on the professor

Dr B loves teaching and it shows. I wish more bio profs were like him. He’s laid back about most things. But I’ve heard he won’t give excuses for missed absences unless you have some sort of documentation. I suppose that’s fair since that’s what employers would want many times. Show up, study, give at least some effort & there is no reason you can’t earn an A. Slack off, don’t try, and get the lower grade you deserve I guess. Show up late, less time for your quiz. So be on time.

Advice

It’s all right in front of you in this class. All the notes, PowerPoint, even online lectures. If you apply yourself at all, you can earn an A.
