Comments on the course

Great class, very useful for students who want to go to law school. Run like a law school class and very straightforward. You read cases and prepare briefs before class and go over them in class. The cases are compiled in a spiral notebook. There are two tests which are true or false (+2 for right answers,-2 for wrong) and short essay.

Course Content

The cases we read in this class are related to first amendment violations. Topics were protests and riots, flag burning, slander, and hate speech.

Comments on the professor

Awesome Professor. Not only a complete master in constitutional law, but also one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Feel free to stop by his office just to chat about anything. He will go out of his way to help you and would change the syllabus to help the class out, especially at the end.

Advice

Do the briefs. He says it’s optional but you have to pretty much memorize all the cases to pass the tests. Get to know him and he’ll help you out tremendously.
