Dr. Herman is a fantastic professor. He gave us days off frequently during this particular class and told us to research at home. He also taught me things that I'm still using for major projects, almost a decade later.

Take it earlier than your last quarter if you can get a professor you like. Make sure you find a topic you'll love writing a ton about.
