Prof: Christina Stout / Fall 2021
Dec 4, 2021
Will I ever make use of my limited knowledge of Ekman transport? I doubt it. However, the instructor was enthusiastic, the class was interesting, and for those of us who aren’t science-minded, it was an easier to digest class.
The bits about climate change were interesting and pertinent to what’s happening. It was fascinating to learn how interconnected the ocean is to so many aspects of our daily life. Useful? Meh. Moderately, yes, but only in a very general sense.
I admire Professor Stout a great deal. I love her passion for geology, her wit and humor, and the fact that she gives even science-dummies every possible tool to succeed in her class. However: she did think her Canvas shell was more organized and accessible than it actually was.
I wish I had known it was hybrid. It was listed as in-person. However, the instructor was very flexible and allowed us to switch between online and in person as we needed.
