Prof: Ying Jin / Fall 2021

Dec 4, 2021

Comments on the course

I loved this class and the way Professor Jin taught it. Her explanations are clear and she is always asking the class if we are understanding the concepts after she explains it. Totally recommend this class to CS majors!

Course Content

The course is a continuation of CSC 134, so it covers more advanced database design patterns and SQL techniques like triggers, procedures, and functions. The material can definitely be applied to any software engineering project to make the back-end more robust and efficient.

Comments on the professor

I love Professor Jin, she's very sweet and knowledgeable about her field of study. She teaches very well and makes sure to explain the "why" while teaching new material.

Advice

The coursework is very light in my opinion, the only downside might be the exams are weighted a lot. Doing poorly on one exam might really prevent you from earning an A, so studying is a must.
