Comments on the course

The hybrid method was not great. The prof never really figured out the cameras so the board is legible so watching the lectures for note purposes was sort of a waste of time. He also forgot to record beginnings of a lecture were he'd talk about assignment and often forgot to just let distance students into the zoom call.

Course Content

The content of this course is very interesting and core if you are seeking a physics degree. The textbook does a pretty good job of explaining most topics. The most difficult part if figuring out which part of the textbook the prof is going over at a given time.

Comments on the professor

He 100% knows his stuff and loves physics and is a very nice guy but the course delivery and logistical stuff added so much extra stress to a very heavy semester very deep in pandemic burnout. I did appreciate the laid back nature of the final exam.

Advice

If you can get to Ottawa and go to class in person, do it. Also allocate a good amount of time for the assignment because he has a few that are "make you think" style that will take time to work through.
