Comments on the course

Dr Freeworth designs the course to be super supportive of students. She made videos to use for class content review instead of using a textbook. They are 30 minutes or less and there is a quiz embedded so that is easy points. We do assignments in class and can talk about them with our group. Its easy to get a good grade if you go to class most of the time. Tests are difficult but they are worth less points than tests.

Course Content

The course is a biology course so you learn about how food works in the body. You learn about a nutrients and then you talk about relevant things related to the nutrient, like carbs and diabetes. This class is super useful to every day life!

Comments on the professor

The professor is Dr Freeworth and she is literally one of the best professors on campus. She designs the class to help first year students by creating a classroom environment that helps you learn while you're there... so thats why attendance is super important. She also brings in videos like TikToks to show us how to navigate nutrition misinformation online. She puts a ton of work into class-- creating materials, in class assignments, study sessions.

Advice

I wish I knew that attendance is important-- its only 2x/week-- and that I need to pay attention in class and work with other students when needed. To make the most of class time, watching the videos in advance is KEY. first test is the hardest. second test is a little easier, and last test is easiest. Go to study sessions to get help before exam
