Comments on the course

I absolutely LOVED this course. It was super interesting so it wasn't hard to keep up with. Attendance is mandatory because we had a quiz every week on the previous 2 lectures. The quiz made up for 40% of the grade BUT! no midterm or final. The content is fresh every week, so if you like new material, this is the course for you.

Course Content

We talked about reproduction in different species and how it relates to evolution and our understanding of said species. The quizzes focused on what you can do with the information provided in lecture as opposed to memorizing the content.

Comments on the professor

Dr. Moehring is one of the most kind, understanding, and effective educators I have encountered at UWO. The coursework is fair and not overwhelming; she answers any and all questions people have. I attended office hours just to talk about the content further, and she was a delight. She's kind, but she is upfront, which I admire greatly. I have nothing but great things to say about her.

Advice

GO! TO! CLASS! And also, create a network of at least 2-3 classmates who can record lectures and upload them onto google drive in case you miss a lecture. If you really can't, I advice you to go to her office hours. She only provides a couple slides per lecture (like, 5 at MOST) without much text so come to class ready to engage with the content. This is also why I like recording the lectures because I would listen back to them and fill in my notes where I missed it.
