Comments on the course

Really informative introduction to chem labs -- I've definitely used this class in all the other chem labs I've had to take for my degree. It builds on gen chem concepts so there's not much truly "new" material, but you get to go more in-depth with lab techniques. Lab periods can be tedious as they're very long (~4 hours) and focused on getting extremely precise results (a large portion of your grade is based on the accuracy of your results, so it's worth it to take your time and redo any trials if necessary) -- definitely schedule this class at a time where you'll be alert because otherwise, getting through the class can be tough.

Comments on the professor

Dr. Sra was great, she was an entertaining lecturer and made the assignments very reasonable. Really accessible outside of class as well, she answered all of my questions thoroughly and quickly.

Advice

Take some time to review acid/base titrations and electrochem basics from gen chem! There's no tricky material, really -- you've already learned all of the content, but it's good to have it fresh on your mind when you start.
