Comments on the course

The class was really fun and not too demanding.

Course Content

The goal of the class was to discuss the design of a computer and to understand its limitations. We implemented simple algorithms in ARM Assembly, worked with strings, arrays and discussed the limitations of floats. There was also a good discussion on computer architecture and how a CPU and memory work.

Comments on the professor

His lectures feel a bit impromptu but that's just his style of teaching. Losh is very experienced and knows how to communicate concepts well.

Advice

Attend lectures even if attendance is not mandatory, you'll enjoy them. His exams and quizzes look almost exactly like the homework (with tiny modifications). So the homework is assigned but not graded, and exams and quizzes are open-book and open-notes. So bring your homework to the exams and quizzes.
