There are classes that you think where can this be useful. This is one of them. Learning Linux was great but the C projects were thrown into the students as we had all the knowledge in the world prior.

Roosen is a good man but his teaching style is throwing students directions and hoping they figure it out. Hands on learning works for some but its highly de-motivating when you do not get the help you need. It happens more often than not.
